Brief Biography:

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Providence College. Prior to returning to graduate study, I managed the processing and analysis of data used in large-scale social policy demonstrations and randomized-control trials at MDRC. These projects were designed to improve the economic and educational opportunities of low-income populations in the United States. I began my career working in direct social services. I managed programming in a supportive housing community with Common Ground Community in New York City. In West Africa, I worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Togo and Chad.

Area(s) of Expertise:

I use quantitative methods to understand how increases in women's educational attainment are connected to changing patterns in assortative mating, family structures, and gender roles.
