Dr. Josephine Ruggiero and Sociology Between the Gaps

Dr. Josephine Ruggiero, Professor Emerita of Sociology, continues to promote the value of sociology through her PC-published, online scholarly journal, Sociology Between the Gaps (SBG).

Dr. Ruggiero’s objective in starting SBG in the summer of 2014,  was to maintain her involvement in teaching sociology, but to do this in a different way and on a much larger scale after her retirement from 41 years of classroom teaching, new course development, and other professional activities.

With no budget but with technical support from Providence College and the assistance of volunteer sociologists on its Editorial Board who review and also write articles and reviews, SBG is available at no cost to prospective authors and readers globally.

Since its first volume SBG has continued to draw high-quality submissions from students and professionals in sociology and related fields in the U.S. and other countries. Take a look at the articles, point-of-view essays, book and film reviews published in SBG to date. If you or someone you know is interested in submitting their previously unpublished work about a forgotten or neglected topic in sociology for publication in SBG, please share SBG‘s Submission Gudelines which are described on its website.
