Autumn Tangney ’23
“I graduated as the Student Body President and dual HPM and PSC major with a Sociology minor in 2023. I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Public Health in International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. I have used a sociological perspective to understand health inequity at the domestic and international levels. I have conducted research on refugee health and harm reduction in Baltimore City, as well as global health research on a peer mentorship program for orphaned adolescents living with HIV in Bangalore, India. It was an honor to study sociology at Providence College and the teaching has shaped the way I address public health crises in my work beyond graduation. “
